What is this unit/Dept. about? Ward 12 admits geriatric female frail care, spastic, intellectual disability and behavioural problem and psychiatric disorder from 18yrs and more than 85 years with bed capacity of 134.
What are its specialized services (what does the unit offer)? Rendering care to the intellectually disabled patients by helping them with activities of daily living and stimulating others in the ward and other services as determined by the MPT.
What is the disease profile of your Unit? Epilepsy = 25 Diabetes =2 Hypertension =17 Hypothyroidism=7 Asthmatic=2
How does one get access to the unit (through grooming or straight)? Straight
Could you please explain the steps followed to access the services? Patients are brought in through the Department of social development, and mostly Ward 12 patients are transferred from Ward 3 and Ward 7
